With every book that comes out in this series, I'm pulled deeper and deeper into all things Lathar, and I'm totally cool with that! In this book, Isabella is struggling to survive on an Earth that is not surprisingly misogynistic, and catastrophically dystopian. She's had a hard life, but she's still a fighter. When she meets Berrick, she is not a fan, to say the least, but he grows on her. The story shows their love story growing while at the same time the action ramps up and the danger increases. I loved the enhancements that Berrick had, just as a side note, lol. I love the way Mina Carter writes her stories, her characters are always relatable and full of human quirks, the action is always interspersed in the stories, and the scenes are always written well and with sufficient details to bring it all to life.
