Normally, I can and will pop off a 500 pager in about a day. Sometimes though, a book comes along that I'll purposely read slower because there is just so much to it. So much beyond mere characterizations, plots, settings, structure, voice ... sometimes the author gives a reader such a gift that it's simply a crime to give the novel short shrift. This is one of those novels. I will give nothing away. Just read it.
