Obviously the proof reader was asleep on the job. Page 190 states that FDR defeated J. Edgar Hoover in the 1932 presidential election. This is news to those of us who are American readers and it brought a howl of laughter from me. The author mistook J. Edgar Hoover for Herbert Hoover. I found the conversations between Wallis and the Prince of Wales almost ludicrous. The author is trying to rehabilitate the personas of these two people. Edward would have made a terrible king (can't imagine how he'd have handled WWII) and was considered to be a Nazi sympathizer. From biographies and non-fiction books I've read about the marriage it was not a happy one.
